Accordion Player (1888)

Accordion Player is a 1888 English black and white silent short film directed by Louis Aimé Augustin Le Prince.

The last remaining film of Le Prince’s single-lens camera is a sequence of frames of Adolphe Le Prince playing a diatonic button accordion. It was recorded on the steps of the house of Joseph Whitley, Louis’s father-in-law. The recording date may be the same as Roundhay Garden Scene as the camera is in a similar position and Adolphe is dressed the same. The NMPFT has not remastered this film.
